Celebrity Breakups and Divorce: Diane Lane and Josh Brolin

According to various news reports, on Valentines Day, February 14th, Hollywood actors Diane Lane and Josh Brolin signed divorce documents to end their eight year marriage. The couple reportedly have no children together.

Both actors have very busy, successful acting careers. We have discussed before in this divorce blog, (written by Augusta, Georgia divorce lawyers), about how Hollywood careers can present special stressors on celebrity marriages. Of course, only Brolin and Lane need to know about their own situation which led to this reported breakup and divorce.

What are some of your favorite movies featuring these two actors? As for me, Ms. Lane starred in my favorite television mini-series, Lonesome Dove. I also enjoyed Brolin's performance in the movie, No Country for Old Men.

According to reports, Ms. Lane does a lot of charitable work "under the radar," i.e. without seeking recognition. Here's hoping that these two fine actors find happiness and have continued success.

Celebrity Marriage and Divorce: Steve Martin

Steve Martin is one of my favorite comedians! So, I really wanted to figure out a way to write a post about him which is relevant to this blog about divorce, (which is written by an Augusta, Georgia divorce lawyer). Here goes! See how I do!

Have you heard the good news about comedian Steve Martin? According to various news reports, Martin, an avid banjo player, stand up comedian, and talented star of such popular movies as Roxanne, Father of the Bride, and one of my favorites: Plains, Trains, and Automobiles, has just become a new father!

Martin and his wife, Anne Stringfield, have reportedly just had their first child together, but, according to the reports I have seen, no one yet knows the baby's gender. You may recall that Martin divorced actress Victoria Tennant back in 1994 and then later married his current spouse in 2007. I suppose that Martin's re-marriage and becoming a father for the first time, at age 67, illustrates that, frequently, people can go through divorces and still find happiness the second time around! Here's hoping for many blessings for Martin and his new (larger) family!

Celebrity Separations and Divorces: Chris Harrison

Have you heard the sad news this past week about yet another celebrity couple reportedly separating?  According to various news reports, Chris Harrison, the host of the popular reality dating series, The Batchelor, along with its various spin-offs, and his wife of 18 years, are reportedly calling it quits.  (A prior contestant is shown in the above photograph from wikipedia with Mr. Harrison).

Of course, if the couple divorces, this inevitably invites the question of whether or not Mr. Harrison will ever be a contestant on his own program. What do you think?

Celebrity Divorces and Separations: Katy Perry and Russell Brand

Did you hear the latest Hollywood news?  According to various news reports, a California judge has signed documents which will grant a divorce filed late last year by British comedian Russell Brand from a talented American singer, Katy Perry. 

Technically, it appears that, under California divorce law, the divorce may not be final for another six months.  But, according to news reports, at least the divorce terms have been approved.  Coincidentally, Katy's new hit single is entitled, "The One That Got Away."

While, over the years, there have been many celebrity marriage success stories, this appears to be another example of how Hollywood careers can really put stress on celebrity marriages.  Here's hoping that they both have moved on and that they will find happiness and continued success in their respective careers.

Shocking Celebrity Separations and Divorces: Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony

This past week, according to news reports, singer, actress, and American Idol Judge, Jennifer Lopez, and her husband, singer Marc Anthony, have reportedly separated.  Lopez and Anthony, who have been married for seven years, have two children.

Did you know about the amazing charitable work done by Ms. Lopez?  For instance, she is noted for her fine work on behalf of the Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

Hollywood has apparently taken its toll again on another celebrity marriage.  Here's hoping that Ms. Lopez and Mr. Anthony will find happiness again.

Hollywood's Most Shocking Breakups

I am not in the habit of promoting television programs in this blog.  As you know, we are Augusta, Georgia divorce lawyers who primarily offer practical child custody, alimony, and other divorce-related tips for you to discuss with your own divorce attorney. 

But we also offer discussions about celebrity divorces in the news, too.  Recently, for example, we have discussed, along with many others, the Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver separation. 

Today, as I browsed through the T.V. Guide listings, I ran across a listing for an interesting looking t.v. program which will run tonight on the TVGN network.  The program focuses on twenty-five of Hollywood's "most shocking breakups," from Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, to Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt. 

I don't know about you, but for me, an Augusta Georgia divorce attorney, that's what I call "must-see t.v.!"  Which celebrity couple divorces or split-ups would make your top 10, or top 25, lists?
