Favorite Movies About Divorce: Just Go With It

Just Go With It is one of my new favorite movies about divorce.  The movie stars Adam Sandler, as a plastic surgeon, who pretends to be going through a divorce, in order to attract a young woman. The movie also stars Jennifer Aniston, who, along with her kids, is enticed by Sandler's character to help him convince the young girl friend that the divorce is amicable.  Aniston's character, a single mom, has already been through a divorce.

Trust me!  "Just go with it" and give this hilarious, well-acted movie a try!

Favorite Movies About Divorce: Sweet Home Alabama

Okay, okay, I haven't forgotten that this is supposed to be a divorce blog by an Augusta, Georgia divorce attorney containing practical tips and information about divorce for you to discuss with your own divorce lawyer!  But because it's a Monday, I thought it might be more fun to talk today some more about our favorite movies dealing with the topic of divorce!

Today, I would like to nominate the Reese Witherspoon movie Sweet Home Alabama as one of my "Best Pictures" about divorce.  In this 2002 comedy, Ms. Witherspoon's character, Melanie Smoot, returns home to Alabama, from her new life as a New York City socialite, in order to finalize her divorce from the home town boy, played by Josh Lucas.  The movie also features some other fine performances by actors Candice Bergen, Jean Smart, and Mary Kay Place.

Divorce Movies: "Along Came Polly"

Okay, after a serious post about cops and divorce, let's get a little bit lighter with another post about......divorce movies! The 2004 comedy classic "Along Came Polly" is another one of my favorite divorce-related movies! (In fact, I enjoy most of Ben Stiller's and Jennifer Aniston's comedies!)

Obviously, not many people in real life confront the problem of their new spouse going to bed with a scuba instructor while on their honeymoon! But the movie does address some problems which divorcing couples often face. For example, Stiller's character, Reuben Feffer, must address the problem of dating again after a break-up. (As a divorce lawyer, I would recommend to our divorce clients that, unlike Feffer, they wait until after their divorce is final before they begin dating...unless it's Jennifer Aniston, of course!) I also found it interesting that Feffer had gone along with his spouse's love of fluffy bed pillows, until after his break-up and introduction to Polly Prince, (Aniston's character).
